Terms of use
This is an English translation for convenience. If there is any difference, the Korean version prevails.
These terms apply to trial rides, lessons, lesson passes and monthly memberships at Guri Riding Club. They were drafted with reference to the structure of the Installation and Utilization of Sports Facilities Act and the Fair Trade Commission's Standard Terms for Fitness Centres (No. 10048).
Effective date: 6 October 2026
Article 1 (Purpose)
These terms set out the rights, obligations and responsibilities of the club and its users regarding the use of the riding facilities and programmes of Guri Riding Grounds (Guri Riding Club, the "Club"), operated by the Seoul Equestrian Federation (the "Federation").

- The Club may amend these terms within the limits of applicable law. When it does, it posts the effective date and the reason for the amendment from 7 days before the effective date. Amendments unfavourable to users are posted from 30 days before the effective date and notified to users individually.
- Amended terms apply to use contracts concluded after the amendment and do not apply retroactively to the disadvantage of existing users.
Article 4 (Formation of the use contract)
- A use contract is formed when the user applies through the website, by other contact means or in person, the Club confirms the schedule and assigns a horse and coach, and the user pays the fee.
- A booking request made on the website is only a receipt of the request. The booking is confirmed when the Club notifies the user of confirmation.
- The Club may refuse an application, or accept it with conditions, in the following cases:
- the user's weight, height or health does not meet safe riding standards;
- the session is already full;
- the information in the application is untrue.
Article 5 (Fees)
- The types of passes, their fees, session length and validity period are posted on the website's fees page and in the clubhouse, or given when a booking is confirmed.
- Fees may differ between weekdays and weekends or public holidays.
- Any costs in addition to the fee, such as helmet or equipment hire or insurance, are explained before payment.
Article 6 (Changing and cancelling a booking)
- When confirming a booking, the Club tells the user the deadline for changing or cancelling it without a session being deducted.
- The user may change or cancel the booking by contacting the Club before that deadline.
- If the user cancels after the deadline or does not attend without notice, one session of a lesson pass may be treated as used. This does not apply where the user provides evidence of an unavoidable reason such as illness or an accident.
Article 7 (Cancellation due to weather or facility conditions)
- The Club may cancel or change a lesson if it judges that safe riding is difficult because of weather such as thunder and lightning, a heatwave warning or heavy rain, a horse's health, or facility inspection.
- If the Club cancels under paragraph 1, no session is deducted, and at the user's choice the session is rescheduled or the fee for that session is refunded.
Article 8 (Postponement of use)
- A user may apply to postpone the validity period of a pass for reasons such as injury, illness, business travel or pregnancy.
- The maximum length and number of postponements are set with the user's agreement when the pass is purchased, and the Club explains them in advance.
- The validity period is extended by the length of the postponement.
Article 9 (Transfer of passes)
With the Club's consent, a user may transfer the remainder of a pass to another person. Conditions of use for each pass, such as sharing within a family, are explained at the time of purchase.
Article 10 (Obligations of the user)
For safe riding, the user must observe the following.
- Wear a riding helmet with the chin strap fastened while riding, and wear the clothing advised by the Club.

The user may rescind or terminate the use contract at any time, and in that case receives a refund under Article 14.
Article 13 (Termination by the club)
The Club may terminate the use contract after notifying the user if the user does any of the following. In that case, the standard in Article 14 for termination for the user's own reasons applies.
- repeatedly fails to follow safety rules, endangering themselves, others or the horses;
- mistreats a horse or deliberately damages the facilities;
- harms other users or staff through verbal abuse, violence or similar.
Article 14 (Refund of fees)
- Refunds follow Annex 3-2 (Standards for Refund of Fees) of the Enforcement Rule of the Installation and Utilization of Sports Facilities Act.

- Rescission or termination for the Club's reasons (suspension, closure of business and so on): before use begins, the fee plus the applicable penalty is refunded; after use begins, the fee less the amount used, plus the applicable penalty, is refunded.
- The amount used is calculated as "fee × sessions used ÷ sessions contracted" for lesson passes, and as "fee × days elapsed ÷ days contracted" for period passes such as monthly memberships.
- The Club makes the refund within 3 business days of the date the reason for the refund arises. If the refund is late, the Club pays it with late-payment interest at the applicable rate.
Article 15 (Accidents and liability)

- Where the user causes damage to a horse or the facilities through intent or gross negligence, the user is liable for it.
- Riding carries a risk of injury, including falls, so the Club recommends that users take out personal accident insurance.
Article 16 (Personal belongings)
Users look after their own belongings, for example using personal lockers. The Club keeps items left in its care with the care of a prudent manager, and is not responsible for the loss of or damage to items not left in its care unless caused by the Club's intent or negligence.
Article 17 (Photos and videos)
Before posting photos or videos showing a user on its website, social media or elsewhere, the Club obtains the consent of the user (or of the legal representative for users under 14). The user may ask for a post to be removed at any time.

Matters concerning livery are governed by a separate livery contract between the Club and the owner. Matters not covered by the livery contract are governed by these terms.
